“The unexamined life is not worth living.” Socrates
Have you ever come to moments in your life where you cannot move forward and feel frustrated, confused or downright angry? I suspect we all have had those moments and wondered why! A common factor that can underlie such times is unprocessed emotions, faulty thinking and false beliefs (held out of awareness). These in effect create blocks in our energy and interfere with our forward movement, health, happiness and inner peace.
Root Chakra, Unprocessed Emotion and Perception
The health of our root chakra profoundly affects our perception of reality. A healthy root chakra offers a strong foundation for clear perception about ourselves, our work, intuition, purpose and relationships…simply put, an unbalanced or weak root does not!
Old memories, mistaken beliefs and unprocessed emotions can all create “wobbles” in our energy systems that block clarity. We may see what we want to see instead of what is really there– be it people, places or circumstances. Our judgment about what is good for us, healthy or life enhancing is clouded. We can be forcing rather than flowing with life.
Relationships are perhaps the arena where this is most pronounced. Have you ever had the experience of getting into a relationship only to find out later that it is not what you thought? The person who is now standing in front of you is not who you thought they were? I sure have and it was not pretty! In addition, it was then complicated and a lot more painful than if I had had greater awareness and been firmly centered within my own Being at the start.
Perception Affects all Areas of Life
This same dynamic can operate as regards our work, friendships, intuition and even life purpose. It is relatively easy and even pleasant to use energetic techniques, but it can be hard to deal with the resulting clarity, and face the reality of our situations/lives/selves. This alone can account for some of our resistance to clearing up perception. If we do we must often make difficult choices and make changes that are challenging.
It takes courage to do our inner work, discover our truth and live from present moment awareness– from the inside out. However, I think if we all think about it, it saves us a lot of pain, chaos, confusion and heartache in the long run! What do you think? Is there someplace where it has been less scary to remain with pain than risk moving into new territory?
Working with grounding techniques and strengthening the solar plexus and heart chakras can help providing a backdrop or firm foundation for moving forward and leaving the pain, frustration and confusion behind.
