Our core beliefs are like designer myths, ones made by us for us–stories fashioned as we experienced life and tried to make sense of it. They become the window through which we see the world. The effect is that of distorting reality and leaving us shackled by chains forged in our own minds.
Beliefs about ourselves, life, relationships, time, money, love, creativity and spirituality originate from many sources, are usually formed early in life, are encoded energetically and tend to be unconscious. The result is that they are accepted as truth and create feelings, thoughts and actions that reinforce the original belief. If theses beliefs are ones of strength, confidence, optimism and hope, then they may serve us well.
Unfortunately many of us have beliefs that do not serve us well. As a result a vicious cycle is formed with inner turmoil, conflict and unhappiness as the outcome. Through becoming aware of faulty or limiting beliefs and their associated difficulties we can free ourselves of a great deal of stress, improve our health and develop greater happiness, peace and fulfillment.
Self mastery, being able to consciously create our own lives, abundant creativity and focused purpose are the gifts of freeing ourselves from unconscious beliefs.
The cliff notes!
Unconscious negative attitudes stand in the way of what we want and deserve. To empower ourselves we need to believe we are entitled to good things and also have the capacity to enjoy them. Rework attitudes that do not support you.
