Inner peace will elude us unless we take charge of creating it! Here are five things you can do to bring more peace into your day. Choose one or two to focus on in any particular day. Working with all at once may be overwhelming and lead to giving up. Practicing one a day for a week and then adding another helps to gradually shift the hold your “monkey mind” has on you. The growing inner peace will become self re-enforcing.
- Practice mindfulness just for today. Be in the moments as much as possible.
- Stop arguing with yourself.
- Practice feeling: What if it/this were easy?
- Let go of struggle, just for today.
- Replace a negative with a positive and FEEL it.
Inner peace is like any other quality. It takes time, focus and attention….and lots of patience with ourselves as we ebb and flow with our intentions and attention!
When we are in the midst of any change it is important to honor each step of the process and not judge it because it is not the end point or goal….that is one way we lose our power, connection to our hearts and to our humanity.
Working with these five tips will not only help you develop greater ease and inner peace…you may notice many other benefits in terms of your stress management, and overall well being!
