Developing intuition blends our deepest humanity with our highest spiritual nature.
Connecting to our authentic nature opens an energy flow to strength and positivity.
Developing Intuition: First and Second Attention
First attention is the kind of awareness that we are most acquainted with. It is our everyday conscious mind. We have another awareness that operates through our energy field. This has been called second attention.
Second attention is the way we connect to our energy and intuition.
Our personal energy system is the means through which we directly contact and receive information regarding the people, places and things. We tend to discount or ignore the information that comes to us through this “second attention” or intuitive knowing. The result is that we unintentionally abandon our deepest selves. In doing so we do not benefit from the enormous amount of information available to us. Unfortunately living solely from first attention…that is in our heads …exacts a price in terms of our health, prosperity, life satisfaction and happiness.
Developing Intuition for Healing, Guidance and Direction
Our intuition is a valuable friend that accompanies us in life. This friend provides truth, guidance and direction. Intuition can lead us to deep areas in need of healing. It fosters good decisions and helps in navigating the twists and turns of life. In addition it provides us with the truth of interactions, relationships, career and working conditions.
Intuition can take many forms. It travels over our nervous system and expresses as clairaudience (hearing), clairvoyance (seeing) or clairsentience (feeling). The latter is perhaps the most common form of intuitive knowing.
Developing emotional intelligence is an enormous advantage in unraveling mistaken beliefs, and healing the past.
This creates a base for intuition to operate more freely and clearly.
Developing Intuition: Authenticity, Spirituality and Energy
Tuning into second attention and becoming skillful at managing energy makes processing emotions and opening to intuitive knowing easier. It also allows us to open up a felt connection with our spiritual nature. This felt connection is quite different from a cognitive awareness or belief in the spiritual. When we “work with” our energy, intuition comes online in a more reliable and effective way.
Developing Intuition: A Path to Truth
Emotional reactions to people and events, half formed or unexplained feelings, hunches are all ways that our psyche is trying to inform us of the truth of our interactions. How many times have you ignored this valuable information to your detriment? We all have! There’s no shame in it ….only learning and commitment to listening better in the future.
Working with our personal energy system so that it becomes more open, clear and flowing helps us to be more clear and in tune with truth VS unprocessed emotions and mistaken beliefs. It helps us to move past the tangle of fears, old beliefs and conditioned reactions to live more freely from true center –our authentic self. All of this sharpens our intuition making it an even more reliable source for us.
Some awareness regarding the competing messages that crowd our inner world can be helpful! The following chart may be useful in sorting out the various “voices in your head”!
